PRESS RELEASE

Kildee to Not Seek Re-election

Open Seat Creates Opportunity for Republicans

Grand Blanc, MI:  The 8th Congressional District Republican Committee sends prayers and best wishes to Congressman Dan Kildee who announced that he will be retiring after a recent battle with cancer. We thank Congressman Kildee for his years of public service and we hope that his retirement is filled with blessings.

With Congressman Kildee not seeking re-election, the 8th Congressional District is an open seat which will draw national attention in the 2024 election cycle.

“Families across the 8th District deserve responsible leadership and representation that responds to the unique needs and concerns of Bay, Genesee, Midland and Saginaw Counties,” said Anne DeLisle, Chair.  “It is time to send conservative leadership to Washington to focus on the people of our forgotten cities and work to revitalize and re-energize Bay, Genesee, Midland and Saginaw Counties.”

“My team and I look forward to helping elect a representative who will stand up for all voters of this District and who will help build a strong House majority in Washington, D.C.,” said DeLisle.
